Why I’m Passionate About AI
AI is not just a buzzword—it’s a catalyst for change. I’ve seen firsthand how its integration can transform industries, from manufacturing and logistics to marketing and beyond. By sharing my experiences and perspectives, I hope to empower others to embrace this technology and harness its potential responsibly. And AI is still just at its beginning… the speed of improvements is exponential. The opportunities are vast.
I am born in the 1970s in the South West of Germany close to the Black Forest. My passion for computers started as a child and my first own computer was an Amstrad CPC 464 (which was sold in Germany under the Schneider brand). Later followed an Atari ST. I guess my first contact with Artificial Intelligence was a program called “Eliza”, developed by the German computer scientist Joseph Weizenbaum when he was at the MIT. Eliza was an early example of natural language processing. It was possible to ask questions and ELIZA would kind of rephrase them and start a conversation. This was still very simple compared to what we know today. If you are curious, check out the web version of ELIZA.
The interest was born and in different iterations and phases always nurtured. With today’s possibilities, AI is a game changer for the industry, for the society, for business. That is what I find fascinating about it.
